Joy Canvas with Shona

Hello Shimmerz fans!! Today I have a fun mixed media canvas to share. How I love to create a girly grungy project! I am going to give this one to my cutie pie grand daughter.

For the background I started with some stencil work with Salt of the Earth Paste-eez…perfect for added texture.

After the canvas was put together it was time to add some gorgeous Shimmerz colors…I used Chocolate Brownie and Mama Sings the Blues Coloringz.

Finish it all off with some splatters of Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz.

Shimmery team up with sweet florals

Hi Everyone, Beck Beattie here today with a sweet card share.  I had lots of fun creating this card so I'm even going to take you though it!

Shimmerz Products Used:
Shimmerz Creameez - Tripin in the Tropics
Shimmerz Creameez - Green Acres

I thought I would take you through the process of creating my card today.

To start I added a little gesso to the pink card base with my finger.

I also die cut 3 of these vine circles from the white glitter cardstock.  It die cuts so well and is a really neat way to use glitter cardstock as it adds the most beautiful accent to your projects in this way.  It is probably my favourite way to use glitter cardstock!

Next I took some die cut leaves and gave them a coat of my Shimmerz Creameez paint in Green Acres and allowed them to dry.

I also added some Shimmerz Creameez to my background by splattering and then softening the splatter with a pice of plastic.

I also added a little green splatter to the background in the same colour Creameez added to the leaves.

I didn't want such a large sentiment for this card so I decided to cut the sentiment strip up and add it in two parts to finish my card.
Here are some more pics of my sweet card:

I Hope you enjoyed my share today.

Happy Crafting!

Friendship card with Astrid

Hello lovely Shimmerz friends, - today I have a card to share celebrating friendship.

The card is made with two different panels and here is the list of products I used:
Inklingz: Meet me @ Sunset, Miner Miner 49er Penny 4 Your Thought and Tarnished Treasure.
Creameez: Sage It Isn't So
Vibez: Egg Noggin
Coloringz: Chocolate Brownee
Spritz: Olive Branch, Treasured Hymn
For the dark background panel I used Kraft card and painted it first with Penny 4 Your Thoughts. Then I used Tarnished Treasure through a stencil to add a bit of variation.

The central panel was dry embossed with an embossing folder and then colour was added with the help of the paints and sprays.
The large leave cut and embossed with the Tim Holtz layered leaf die and embossing folder was first painted with Sage Is N't So and then I added some Olive Branch Spritz for a bit more variation.
The little wooden butterflies were first stamped with a script stamp in Archival ink and then coloured with Miner Miner 49ner and then darkened with Penny 4 Your Thoughts and Tarnished Treasure.
The friends label was just a little embellishment from my stash...
Well, that's it pretty much, - hope you like my card and of course, - thanks for your visit like always!
And if you decide to order some of the lovely Shimmerz products from the store

Trouble maker by Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It's Anna here with my July inspiration. I made another girly page in juicy colors. I love combination of yellow and pink and I use it quite often in my projects. They are a perfect match for my younger daughter. She is such a cutie but she is also very bossy, always has her own opinion and she is not easy to cooperate. My older daughter was always such a graceful child, easy to work with so the contrast between them two is quite a shock for me :D

I used Aqua Huez and creameez to create one part of the background. I also used white Paste-eez for the first time and I just love how it works with the stencils. The details are so nicely highlighted. It dries fast, with a matte finish. This is a fabulous product.

I decided to use yellow colors because of the yellow tones in my picture. I needed to edit it a lot because it was very dark but I really loved this portrait of Maja.

Those abstract flowers really are a great solution if you run low with the embellishments but you want your page to look busy and filled with all the pretty stuff. I will definitely come back to this idea in some other project. With the Shimmerz Paints you can easily create the flower in the colors you need in that moment. You can use mists or paints to color the layers. Possibilities are limitless.

I hope I inspired you with this project to play with papers and paints. As always I have a process video for you.

I used:
- Aqua Huez (notice that they are no longer continued): Hottie Pink, Crazy Daisy
- Creameez: Cheeky Pink
- Shimmerz: Sunny
- Paste-eez: Salt of the Earth
- Spritz: Chick-a-dee

That's all for today. Thank you fro stopping by and see you in August.

Travel Junk Journal by Joyce

I must have had my head buried in the sand these last few years because I just discovered Junk Journals. Now, I’m hooked on them!  This genre has its own language too.

Below are pages I created for my nieces travel junk journal to accompany her on our train excursion to a beach city.

Since my niece doesn’t like anything old, it was a challenge for me not to try and “vintage” it up a little bit.Let me tell you how I used Shimmerz Paints to add some color and  interest into the junk journal.

Belly Band Page Above  (a vertical or horizontal element used for a “tuck spot”):
This side of the printed scrapbook paper is completely white.  I applied a stencil and lightly misted over the pattern with Vibez Deep Blue Sea and Spritz Taupe of the World to create some subtle interest.  In between the scrapbook papers in the journal, I added lined spiral bound and grid papers and applied the same technique.  I like how all the pages in the journal are not the same sizes.  And, since this is a junk journal, I also added one of those perfumed pages from a magazine for a quick fragrance pick me up during the rip and a small map of the beach city on the last page of the journal.
Perfumed Magazine Page Above:

I created a little page pocket with some white linen lacy fabric work on this page which features the perfume magazine page that contains the perfume.  And, you know how much I love Pasteez-Salt of the Earth!   I used a little office metal tag and embellished it with some much sheet paper and a fussy cut butterfly then I toned it down to look opaque looking with Pasteez, and added some bead charms.  On the other side of the page, I dry brushed Creameez Witches Blue over a floral stencil and added some white pen dots to tone down the color a little ad add some interest.  There is a “tuck spot” for some travel memorabilia above my niece’s photo and “C 8” card.  I added lots of tuck spots and secret places to journal in the junk journal.

Mata Hari Page Below:

Again, a stencil and Vibez Deep Blue Sea were applied on the white background paper, as well as the dry brush technique on the other side of the page.  A little book to read on the train ride contains some historical information on the first celebrity before the Kardashians, and the first female  infamous spy.  The book is tucked into the “side pocket.”  On the other side of the page I included a “journal prompt” in the form of a banner tag at the top of the page to inspire some journaling.  I added these journal prompts throughout the journal.

Mini Pull-Up Card Page Above:  I created a mini pull up mixed media card  for some secret journaling.  The cheesecloth was placed in a baggie with some Vibez Deep Blue Sea mist to obtain the desired color.  The small paint drops are from Inklingz Miner, Miner 49er.

I hope I have inspired you to use your Shimmerz Paint products on your own junk journal.

Thanks for letting me share with you.
